Hanoi – Halong Bay – Sapa

The North Vietnam 6 Days tour takes travelers from the ancient streets of Hanoi to the mountain villages of Sapa, with a night on Halong Bay in between. Every day brings a completely different landscape and a completely different way of life. This is northern Vietnam at its most diverse, most dramatic, and most memorable.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Vietnam! You will be greeted by our tour guide upon arrival in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, which celebrated its 1000 year anniversary in 2010. With its emphasis on the arts and learning, local law stipulates that buildings in Hanoi remain small, simple and in harmony with nature.

Check in your hotel then you’ll have a restful overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay

After breakfast, you will leave Hanoi for Halong Bay in about 3,5 hour drive and board a boat, enjoying lunch while cruise through the bay. The magical bay is home to thousands of limestone islands rising from the waves like dragons’ teeth. Later in the afternoon, you will visit an interesting fishing village with opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been living in the bay for almost three generations. Back on board, you will enjoy cocktails or cooking classes while watching the sunset, before indulging in a lavish dinner onshore. Afterwards, you can choose to do anything from joining movie night, playing board games, or relaxing at the beauty spa before retiring for the night.

Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Night Train To Sapa

Wake up on the bay to the sounds of waves, fresh air, and breeze to welcoming the new day. After breakfast, visit a beautiful limestone grotto then walk back to the boat for a final glimpse of Ha Long Bay while cruising back to the dock. The boat arrives at the harbor by 11.30 am, and your driver is waiting to take you back to Hanoi for dinner before heading to Lao Cai – Sapa by night train. Overnight is on the train.

Day 4: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van

Arrive at Lao Cai train station at around 6 am. Pick up and transfer to hotel in Sapa (1 hour drive). Once in Sapa, have breakfast. Then you will explore the Sapa daily wet market and then set out on our 3-4 hour trek down to Muong Hoa valley, travel through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van, home to H’mong and Dzay people. Amazing view from the walk with a lot of local hill tribes people on the way, makes your experience here. Lunch is along the way at a local restaurant. Back to the main road where your vehicle is waiting to take you back to Sapa town. The rest of the day is free time at your leisure. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 5: Sapa – Ma Tra – Ta Phin – Night Train To Hanoi

Have some free time to explore Sapa town after breakfast at your accommodation. Then, check out of your accommodation around lunchtime, and ride a 5-kilometer ride to Sapa’s northeastern region.

Take a car away from this location to reach the H’mong settlement of Ma Tra Village. Immerse yourself in the authentic rural life of the local ethnic communities and experience the tranquility of this picturesque village.

Start a journey through the mountain after this town to get to Ta Phin village. The Red Dzao and the Black Hmong live here in a cooperative traditional craft community.

Following is the Ta Phin Town is encircled by stunning mountains and the scenery is breathtaking. Ta Phin Village is renowned for its traditional handicrafts, such as weaving, embroidery, and batik dyeing and they often showcase their techniques to visitors.

Back on the main road, your car will be ready to transport you to Lao Cai so you can board the overnight train to Hanoi. We’ll continue to train overnight travel.

Day 6: Hanoi Half Day City - Departure

Our tour guide picks you up from the station and bring you to have breakfast. After that, the half day tour takes you around Hanoi’s highlights sites including the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and his stilt house, Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda. (Note: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum closes on every Monday and Friday.

Remember to wear clothes that’s over you knee and covers your shoulder when visiting Ho Chi Minh complex or the pagoda). You also have chance to visit historic University – The Temple of Literature, that dates back to the 11th century; learn about Buddhist practices in a serene lakeside pagoda.

The next spot is Vietnamese Women’s Museum where you can learn and understand the traditional culture, marriage customs, childbirth and family life, traditional women’s clothing and the role of women in the defense of the nation.

After the tour, get to the airport for your flight home. End of service.
