Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise

Lan Ha Bay in Cat Ba Archipelago - Ba Trai Dao - Dark & Bright Cave - Halong Bay

The Heritage Cruise Binh Chuan carries a story worth telling before the journey even begins. Its design pays tribute to the Binh Chuan, the first Vietnamese-owned commercial ship launched in Hai Phong exactly 100 years ago. That pioneering spirit shapes everything aboard this 75-metre vessel. Twenty elegant suites welcome between 40 and 60 guests across four room categories. Each suite features a private balcony, bathtub, bathrobe, and even a traditional Ao Dai set for fine dining evenings. In addition, two restaurants, three bars, a pool, gym, art gallery, spa, and wine cellar make this ship feel like a floating cultural institution.

What truly sets this cruise apart, however, is its route. It boards from Hai Phong rather than Halong City. As a result, guests access remote and untouched waters that most cruises never reach. Moreover, with itineraries stretching up to four days, there is time to go much deeper. Guests explore Bai Tu Long Bay, cross Cat Ba Island, visit a floating village, and finally paddle through the Dark and Bright Caves.

Highlights:

  • Cruise past Da Chong Islet and admire a French-built heritage lighthouse over a century old
  • Kayak or swim at Ba Trai Dao (Three Peaches) beach, a hidden frontier between Halong and Haiphong provinces
  • Explore Gia Luan Lagoon, a pristine and rarely visited bay with dramatic limestone karst formations
  • Cycle or ride an electric car through a rainforest tunnel into Viet Hai village on Cat Ba Island
  • Kayak and swim at Ba Ham Lake in Bai Tu Long Bay, enclosed by towering vertical cliffs
  • Explore the legendary Dark and Bright Caves by traditional bamboo rowboat
  • Visit the largest floating village in the Gulf of Tonkin and meet local fishing families
  • Practice Vovinam, Vietnam’s national martial art, on the sundeck each morning at sunrise
  • Sip cocktails at the pool bar each evening as the sun sets over the Gulf of Tonkin
